👤The product was in good condition. Over the years, we've had several bike racks. The type that hangs your bike from the cross bar is all of them. There are only two frames we have to transport. The female bike was a pain with the extra bar. Not any more. We love this rack. It took about 15 minutes to get it together. It works well in our 2 inch receiver and is stable. They said it was rock solid when I used the clamps. The bikes are super secure and easy to load. Going down the freeway. Awesome. The name brand units are a great price if you check them out. The quality is very good. Highly recommend this product.
👤You can tell by the weight of the box that it is a large hunk of metal. Do not be deterred by the posts that say "too many parts" or that it's too confusing. The average person can figure this out in 20 minutes if they have pictures and instructions. There is a You will want to use the hitch lock piece. It is a deterrent to theft as someone will need a deep sockets or inc wrench before they can remove the carrier, and it keeps the carrier rock solid in the receiver. It will take more work to get your bikes to fit without touching each other. The bikes are reversed in the photos that come with the carrier. I couldn't make this work because the handlebars on one bike made contact with the seat on the other. There is a I have two bikes facing the same direction and the carrier works great. Everything was safe and sound because of a high speed run down the freeway and a drive all over Houston's crappy streets. The red arrow should be noted. As with all bike carriers, it is important that you put some kind of material between the bike and the carrier, as movement and vibration can wear paint.
👤I was worried about the price and the fact that it had no reviews, but it was easy to put together and it fits on the back of my jeep wrangler with the spare tire.
👤I read reviews. Know when I do... I took out the 5 stars. They have to own the company or stock. One star can't even see the pictures and this is easy to assemble. Period. I saw a lot of things. The husband and wife team. It's funny. Repacked and sent it back? You sent the bike rack back. Not a bolt or washer to assemble! The rubber tire straps would be difficult to push over the steel peg. The instructions were terrible. Agree! Take a look at the parts picture. It is easy if you use common sense. I adjusted the bike by shaking it. It is going to your destination. Oh yes... No common sense people... There is no off loading your bike pics. The bottom line. I look forward to my first trip with my bikes because of the inexpensive, sturdy, easy to assemble bike rack. The bike rack is very EXPENSIVE but at a fraction of the cost of a bike shop rack. Those of you that can't figure it out will get totally assembled bike racks. There are bike shops waiting for you. Enjoy your travels with your bikes.
The bicycle car carrier rack is easy to install. There are hooks to protect car paint. It is easy to set up a cradle clamps. Due to customizability, some assembly is required. PLATFORM STYLE 2-BIKES CARRIER Up to 2 bikes can easily be transported with the Sturdy Steel Structure and Stable Platform. The car fit type is universal. The bikeRACK HITCH is aTILE. It is designed to fit the trailer hitch receiver. 90 lbs is the maximum weight capacity for a bike. It fits most bikes frames with 17 to 47 inches. There is a distance between two bikes. There are two moored hooks. Two foam-padded hooks can be slid down over the vertical frame to fit a different size bike frame for safe and reliable transport. Four wheel cradles with knobs can be adjusted along horizontal bars to accommodate bikes of different lengths. Bike wheels are secured into a wheel cradle with tire straps. The rack folds in to a compact size to access the car rear boot or easy storage when not in use. The rack folds in to a compact size to access the car rear boot or easy storage when not in use.
👤The bike rack is heavy. The materials are solid and don't feel like they will break soon. It comes with everything you need to set it up, and you can even get extras if you need them. It is heavy and looks overwhelming, but it is easy to put together. I like that it can be adjusted to fit different bike sizes. This is a good find.
👤It's difficult to find a good quality bike rack. I took a chance with this one, and it works perfectly. It is made of thick steel and has a stabilizing plate that will keep the hitch from wobbling. If you can tolerate their briefness, this is not a deal breaker. This bike rack is an excellent one that is comparable to some costing over two times more with the addition of 4 strategically placed washers. I added these parts because I like assembly. You don't need the extra washers to make it usable. I only have one bike. The bar can be extended from the truck hitch to the vertical support bar to open SUV hatches. I haven't found any bar flex carrying my bike. The bike retaining assembly and the bike holding rack are both 30 inch long and can be removed from the main support bar. I was very pleased with this purchase.
👤We decided on this rack because we needed a better way to haul our bikes. We can use it on both of our vehicles. We used a padlock and cable to secure the bikes to the vehicle, and an additional CZC hitch tightening plate to take some of the slack out of the brackets and bar. I traveled from our home in Louisiana to Tennessee in my SUV with the bike rack secured and loaded up. 500 miles of highway to get there, up and down mountains, rough roads, rain, and left unattended many times. We had peace of mind that our bikes were in place, and the rack held up. The back up camera was used. This is not a big issue, but we can still see behind us and use the mirrors. There is a We purchased an additional hitch plate. The hitch bar and the bike mounting brackets were not fastened into the bar. I felt better eliminating the slack and making the connection tighter. There is no swaying or rocking on the bikes. Everything is locked up. Replacing the hitch pin with a locking pin eliminated the concerns of a thief or vandal. No one will remove a bike from the rack if there is a 6 foot plastic coated cable and padlock. Added protection.
👤We were unable to use the products because of the missing parts. We had it all put together and then realized they were not in the box. The 2 hook brackets are labeled " Two Padded Hooks". The hooks can be slid down over the frame to fit a different size bike for safe and reliable transport. They weren't in the box. The bike rack needs hook brackets to work.
The Kuat Transfer V2 2 Bike Hitch Rack is black.
👤This is so much simpler because it is coming from a roof rack. The bike had to be removed from the top of the car because I needed a step ladder to get it on. I had to remove the rack from the top of the car in order to go to the carwash. Going on a bike ride was very tiring. The Kuat is a huge improvement as it is easy to install. I'm looking forward to taking the bike on many rides this year because it's easy to mount. There is a The Kuat is easy to mount on the car and is a quality product. It's construction is top notch and all parts fit together. The only thing I would suggest is to add washers to the screws. They will sink into the plastic if they are overtightened. I'm concerned that the entire carrier can be removed by removing the screw on the trailer hitch. I need a locking mechanism for that screw. I think all other carriers have the same issue. There is a better rack in the price range.
👤I have been using this rack for over six months and I am writing a review. I use it for two bikes a lot. I love this rack because it is all I need. It is sturdy and well made, without being heavy or bulky. It has three positions and I use all of them. The three positions work perfectly. I like that I have unimpeded access to thepedal button that allows me to adjust the positions while the rack is loaded with two bikes. The rack is great for money. Highly recommended.
👤The handles are supposed to be attached to an arm to secure the bike. There is a button on each handle. The button is supposed to have a spring under it. The button and handle were not usable because of the loose spring on one of the handles. There is no way to reseat the spring because it is riveted shut. I have to return a $400 bike rack because it could have been an easy fix if the handle had been screwed or clipped shut. The handle design was poor.
👤It was built well and does the job perfectly. I have been using the Kuat Transfer 1 bike rack for a year and it has been great. I was not disappointed when I stepped up to the 2 bikes. The design of the vehicle hitch was well thought out and easy to install. It is very strong and rides well on my car. No bouncing or rattles. Very happy. I highly recommend!
The 4 bike rack is only for vehicles with a 2 inch trailer hitch. This product requires a Class III or IV 2 inches hitch. Allen's patented tie down system secures bicycles with 22 inch long carry arms. When the rack is not in use, the carry arms quickly fall out of the way. It is necessary for minor assembly. The rack is set up and installed in less than 5 minutes. Allen's warranty doesn't cover third-party sellers. Allen's warranty doesn't cover third-party sellers.
👤I took some time to use this product before I wrote my review because I wanted to be able to help people decide if this was right or wrong for them. Here is how I use the bike rack. We only travel about 10 miles to where we ride when we have it attached to the hitch of my truck. There is a The pros are as follows. The rack I bought was cheap. I paid $68.00 for it and it has doubled in price. It will come down again, so my suggestion is not to pay more than $68.00 for it. I've seen this happen recently. There is a I can't say how it will hold up in the weather because I only put it on the truck when I need it. This is made from heavy steel and it is not light weight so that should be a plus for its longevity. The cradles that hold the frame of the bike in place are padded so that they fit girls and odd shaped frames without having to buy the extra support bar. It uses a bolt and nut to remove the rattle instead of a locking pin. The mounting system is both pro and con. The pro is that it stops the bike rack from rattling inside of the hitch. There is a If you keep the bike mounted to the vehicle, the frame support arms fold down to make it easier to store away when it's no longer needed. The bikes have been secured with the straps and buckles. I don't know how they would hold up in the sun and weather. The bike support arms fold down, as well as the lower joint. If you need to open the SUV rear door, this is the place to go. There is a Cons. I don't think this particular rack is terrible, but I think you can only design any hitch mount bike rack to do so much. I don't think this design will improve some of the cons I have listed. 1st. The bikes are close together. You have to manipulate pedals and handle bars as you stack the bikes together after the first one. You will need extra bungee cords to secure the spinning wheels and handlebars. Not because the bikes will come loose, but to prevent everything from hitting together and scratching all of your bikes up. The bottoms of the bikes swing back and forth if not bungee strapped. You will get scratches even if you mount things carefully because pedals and handle bars stick out. There is no way to avoid that. The pivot feature is useless when bikes are mounted. If you need to open a car on an SUV, the rack is too heavy to be lowered. Maybe its not supposed to be lowered with bikes mounted. I'm not sure if it would be heavy enough to clear an SUV door with bikes mounted to it. I have it on my truck. There is a The tension bolt isn't as quick to remove as a hitch lock. It is an aircraft style locking nut and you need 2 tools to loosen it. If someone wanted to take the time they could unbolt your rack and steal it. I tried mounting it with a hitch lock, but it allowed too much play in the bike rack to happen. The tension bolt will have to be replaced. The bike support arms can be mounted to the upright. I don't think it would be an issue with breaking if they had designed this area to be a bit more solid. There is a Those are the main points I've noticed. I could see some improvements, but I'm not sure how you could make this type of rack better. If it's right for you, read the review.
The flatlock cam is for 2 receiver. The tire is held up by the use of the Phat Bike Kit.
👤Took me a good hour to assemble in my living room. The instructions were ok. The front and right tire cradles were confusing at first and the bolt packages could've been labeled to correspond to the instructions. There were no major complaints other than that. We'll see how it does on a long trip to the beach later this summer. The trailer hitch is super secure and sturdy with the "proprietary flat lock hitch cam" and 8mm security allen wrench. No need for an additional stabilizer is what it seems. We'll see how it fairs on a long trip to the beach. There are some things that are CONS: Because of the security camlock system, my wife and daughter will not likely use it on their own, so it's a Dad rack. The backup camera alarm is set off when reversing the car. It's important. The Rigid Hitch Class 3 Trailer Hitch (R3-0518) fits the Toyota RAV4 and we had a hard time getting it installed.
👤I've been looking for a tow rack for a while but don't want to spend a lot on one that starts with a T. At a local bike shop, I saw this brand and liked it. They didn't have the three bike and had no clear delivery of it. It was purchased for our family of 3. The rack is a bit heavy but can be used with two people. They don't touch the 3 bikes that are easily supported. The wheel locking bar makes it easy to incline it. It is hard to lower the foot lever with three bikes on. Have to take one away. It folds to the vehicle so that you can see the back window. We had to carefully place the bikes in the pickup truck. We can put them on and not have to lift them up. If you want it for a camper bumper, it is to heavy. If we do use it on the camper, we will need a good tow hitch. A good buy for a novice or expert.
👤I got a bike carrier. Excellent rack. The cable lock is easy to use and comes with your bike. It is not a big deal for me. The pin that secures the rack to the hitch is my only gripe. I think they could have done a better job. No big deal. I use a locking pin for my tow hitch. I would recommend anyone who buys this to get one as well. Kuat makes a locking pin that you can buy, but it has bad reviews because it doesn't seem like a strong lock. I ordered the locking kit because it comes with cable locks for each bike that can be put into the tire hooks. Hope this helps!
Two bikes can carry up to 60 lbs. Each. It can hold tires as large as 4.8" The front tire cradle system is adjusted.
👤This has to be the best fitness enhancement decision I've ever made. I used to use a roof mount bike carrier system. Two accidents with bikes falling sideways and causing mild damage to my SUV were accidents that "I" didn't think was difficult. I realized that a hitch carrier was the best solution when I analyzed the liklihood of needing my hitch for something else while also carrying bikes. There is a The Kuat NV Base 2.0 is amazing. The quality of the build is obvious. The bike carry process has been thought through by Kuat. There will be no further investment by the NV. The mounting and dismounting is very easy. The rack has a locking hitch pin and integrated cable style bike locks. The Kuat NV 2.0 series sell themselves. No regrets.
👤The rack is easy to assemble and is built like a tank. There is a The receiver tightens "expanding wedge" feature makes it very easy to load and unload bikes, it's also very easy to rattle the car's hitch receiver, and the integrated bike locks make loading and unloading bikes very easy. There is a Things. I knew that it didn't play well with a Jeep Wrangler's tailgate. Kuat sells a bike rack pivot that swings the whole thing out of the way if it becomes a problem.
👤It applies when you're spending so much, but it doesn't apply when you're spending less. My wife and I have 50-pound e-bikes so we needed a monster rack. It was very solid. I attach this to a Honda Fit because I drive without fear. It's surprising that the single swinging arm can hold a bike. It does. Installation is easy, with good directions. Attaching and removing a 75 pound object requires two people stronger than me. I wish Kuat made more stuff like the Apple or OXO of bike racks.
👤The bike rack makes it easy to travel with bikes. It comes with a lot of locks. One locks the hitch and the bike rack has its own cable locks to keep your bike out of the rack. The cables are long. We can open the back of the car without taking the bikes off. It is a breeze to load up. Quite sturdy and heavy duty. It is easy to set up but it is a pain. This is a good choice over the Thule. It is expensive but worth it.
👤I was disappointed that the package only came with one extender tire strap for my e-bike tires, and did not include the larger tire adaptor. The extender strap is on back order, but the small tire adaptors are on their way. My previous Kuat gave all of that. If you advertise a bike with larger tires, you would send both extender straps. Quality control on what was to be included was something I didn't like.
👤I got it because it is an excellent product. It looks like I got an open box product and it has two scratches and one of the retainer belts is broken. It is disappointing to spend a lot of money on a second hand product.

The hitch pin lock, instruction manual, and all installation hardware are included. There is a limited lifetime warranty. The quality and design of the Bike Rack products are what they stand for. There are a lot of mishaps covered by their Lifetime Warranty. It is against the law to use an RV or 5th wheel.
👤I got the rack 4 days late. All parts were present when the box was opened. The first problem was discovered when Began assembling per good written directions. The bike rack is locked with a key. This is a good feature of the carrier and it is over $200. The lock on the bike was not compatible with the bolt provided by the kit and would not turn. I might have had to call the company and get a replacement lock or bolt. I was able to identify the problem andTrademarkiaTrademarkiaTrademarkia, I filed down the tip of the bolt so it fit into the lock and the key turned. Most people wouldn't be able to do this. I put the rest of the carrier together. I discovered how heavy the bike was when I lifted it onto the carrier. I strained to get it onto the carrier. If you only plan to use one of the carriers, this would be a problem. Lifting your bike into the inner slot will be difficult if you don't use the outer one. There is a I tried to remove the carrier when not in use. There was another problem encountered. To remove the carrier, I had to lie down under my car and unlatch the hitch lock, use a sockets wrench and stand up and carry the carrier to a place of storage. The thing is heavy. 40 lbs is like a sack of grain. I'm 72 years old. It took me a long time to move it. I have used the carrier twice and it has been great. After removing the outer rack, I was able to maneuver my single Ebike onto the inner rack. The carrier is heavy and difficult to carry, you may have to lie under your car to get it on and off, and if the hitch lock doesn't turn, be prepared to call the company for a working replacement.
👤Everything I was looking for was what I was looking for. You tighten the threaded bolt, the hitch doesn't wobble again. The bolt has a key lock to prevent theft. It doesn't require wheel holders to be mounted, but I can put one bike or two. If you need to open the trunk, the rack folds up or down. The assembly is made of metal and it is very sturdy. I like the straps for the wheels. Also comes with a strap. The price is not the cheapest, but it is a great value. There were a lot of pictures and rack on Amazon. This one was the best.
👤It was great for the price. It's a little heavy when storing but it holds the bikes well. It tilts for easy bike removal. I don't have to tilt my trunk because it clears it.
👤I just bought a bike. It took a lot of searching to find a rack that could support the long wheelbase and 73 pounds and not cost a lot of money. So far, I love this rack. The bike was very secure and I only used it once over 10 miles. It is a challenge to life the big bike on the rack, but that is not the fault of the rack. The Hidden Hitch is tucked under the bumper of my Mazda 5. The hitch hit the bumper and was not long enough to fit in the bolts. I put a notch in the angle brackets to make it fit. The rack was not able to slide in far enough because of a bump inside the receiver. The rack shaft was cut off. It is still stable and solid. I probably won't carry a second bike. The mount is closest to the car. I don't see a way to post pictures. Overall, very happy.
The spacing between bikes has been increased. The dual pins are perfect for most of the vehicles. I/II is 1-1/4. Class III/IV hitch receiver tubes are 2-1/2" in diameter. You just need to pull the lock head to make sure it is working, after hearing "click", it's an easy-OPERATE design. The pin will pop up when you turn the key. The key can be removed. The trailer receiver lock is made of chrome plated carbon steel and hard to bend. The head is easy to handle. Retailers can copy the flat key. The rubber snap-on cap keeps the keyhole free of dust and rust. Tow receiver locks are used to ensure towing safety. The hitch pin lock is compatible with a lot of things, including hitch rack, cargo hitch tray, bike rack, hitch ball and tow rope. 30-day money-back guarantee for any reason, 12-month warranty for quality-related issues. 👤The lock just pops off the end. The locks are the worst I've ever seen. I can't believe it's so highly rated. I messed with the key position. Nothing makes a difference. I wouldn't trust this to hold in my hitch. Garbage.
👤The pin lock is nice. It works well for receivers that are hard to get to from the sides. I use the receiver on the back of my RV to hold my bike rack. I didn't use it. I used a half inch bolt to stop the rack sway because the rack uses a 1/2 " hole and the receiver a 5/8", that created too much room in the hitch system for movement of the bike rack. I couldn't do that if I were towing. Nice lock. It's now a spare.
👤It barely fits the Model Y. Don't buy a Model Y from the company.
👤I bought a new trailer to haul home improvement items. It was always in my mind whether or not my trailer would be there when I came out. The lock works well and makes trailer theft less likely.
👤I thought it would work for what I wanted, but it doesn't fit into my hitch, so this is not a standard size.
👤There are two issues with this product. The bike rack I own does not fit the large pin. The lock mechanism on the end of the pen broke when I tried to stick the key into it. Save your money and buy something else. It's in several pieces now, so it's not worth returning.
👤I wanted to secure my hitch to my receiver and this came with the correct sizes. I'm towing a camper. I don't think it will be submerged, but if it holds up without any issues, I'd be happy.
👤The lock is covered to protect against mud and dirt, making it easy to open. The pin is hard to lock because you have to hold the key and let the lock return to its original position.
👤This seems to work well. The electrical plug is close to the hitch in my tesla Y. The key needs to go in the end of the hitch pins. The tesla Y didn't work with these, so I needed a lock with the key in the pin. This seems to be working well.
You can trust the quality of it. The diamond 300D ripstop waterproof Oxford fabric will offer constant protection for your bikes. The fabric for a bike cover is made with double stitching and heat sealed seams. It's a good idea to have bike races on cars and RVs. It is made for travel use. In any weather conditions! The tarp will protect your bike against the elements, including the sun, rain, wind, snow, ice, dust, and hail. The anti-UV material will protect your bikes. It's secure anddurable! It can be easily secured on all bikes. Just cover the bikes from top to bottom, connect the central buckles and adjust the drawstring cords. Make sure to knot the extra one at the center. It was designed for easy use. Extra security with both front and back lock holes and easily noticeable thanks to the reflective straps on both sides. The top handles can easily be used to remove it. Both men's and women's bikes are compatible with the black and silver style. You can choose between Stationary L/XL or Transportation L/XXL. There is a 2 year warranty. Imagine buying a bike cover and not having to worry about it again. This product will meet all your expectations and they are here to make that happen. If you have any problems with your cycle protector, they will fix or replace it for free.
👤The cover works well on the vehicle. No problems over 450 miles. It's easy to install and remove, bikes stay clean and dry in the rain. I used 2 cinch straps on the ends and the bottom center strap along with an additional center strap over the top to prevent the cover from billowing, but not sure this is really necessary. Light inflation and deflation were visible, but not to the point of strain, while cruising at 60 mph. It is protected from direct wind blast by the rear of the motorhome, so not sure how it would react if mounted on a car at higher speeds.
👤I bought both products from Team Obsidian and Pro Bike Tools. The story of One which is the Original Invention *pro bike tool and The Team Obsidian Imitator begins to be told when you remove the products from the storage bags. The PRO BIKE TOOL product is 2X thicker than the DeniermRip Stop nylon. The clasps are better. The nylon gathers at the bottom are of better quality. There is a One of our former presidents said these words. Benjamin wrote "The Bitterness of Poor Quality remains long after the Sweetness of Low Price is forgotten". Franklin. There is a It was a no rainer which item had to be returned.
👤I needed to get the right bike cover. The balcony of my apartment is large and screened on two sides, so blowing rains and wind get in along with the sun, so I had to cover my bike. The bottom of my bike was pulled tight so the wind wouldn't pull it off. The cover looks better than a tarp, which makes the area look nice. I received a free 5 year extension on my warranty.
👤The bike cover is not the best one you can find. Trust me when I tell you this. I am writing the truth based on my experience and not affiliated with this company. This cover is made from a high quality material and it is a really good looking cover if that matters to you. It will not puncture if it catches up on the bike when removed or installed. I bought this to protect my bike. I travel around the USA in my van. When I am out for 2 weeks at a time in sometimes unforgivable but beautiful environments, I need something to protect my bike, and this cover does a great job of that. I park close to my rig, cover and lock, and even in bad weather this cover has been amazing. My fellow full time nomad has been told about this by me on my You Tube channel. This is a great find and I like to share it. Thanks for the great quality product for the solo nomad.
👤The holes that allow me to put a lock through a wheel are what I like the most. My wheels don't have quick release, but you might want to consider that. Having to remove a cover is a deterrent. I haven't used the cover yet, but it seems like it's high quality for the price. It folds down small enough to fit in a long frame bag I bought separately, so I always have the cover with me if I want to use it. I have an e-bike and this cover gives me some extra peace of mind, but I'm not sure how much I should be concerned about the water damaging the electrical parts, I might just be paranoid.
Please consult the manufacturer's web page for a specific fit. The lightweight platform hitch carrier is a great way to transport up to 4 bikes. The hitch pin has a locking mechanism. Each bicycle has a wheel tray and uses straps to secure it. The bikes frame is secured with a sliding and rotating attachment cradle. When not in use, folds up against the car. It's ideal for storing or parking in a garage. It only works with 2 hitch receivers. Not to be used with a Hitch receiver accessory. Not to be used on a towed vehicle. This lightweight rack has a max tire width of 3 and a max wheelbase of 48.
👤I'm confident that this rack will have its share of reviews describing disastrous outcomes during transport, and I'm sure that it will do so as well. There is a Common sense and human intervention are required to prevent accidents from happening when using a rack. I believe failure can be attributed to one or more of the following. The rack was not being used for its intended purpose. The RV/Trailer 2 was installed. There was a lack of inspection prior to the transport. The bike rack is connected to the hitch. The rack should have no failures given that you take appropriate measures to address 1 and 2. There is no way for the pin to loosen on its own, so the pin is secured with an R-clip/cotter pin. The straps on any rack are guaranteed to break. Each bike on this rack is secured with a strap, tire and frame at the same time. There is a The bike will remain on the rack if one strap breaks. I wanted a rack that could transport 4 bikes with a minimal failure rate and this rack seems to be the best. I have 3 adult bikes and a youth bike. The other bonus features such as the weight and ease of assembly have already been mentioned in posts as has the downside to the rack in that it's relatively easy to take the entire rack with a few tools as the locking mechanism preventing this is relatively weak.
👤I have been a biker for the last 35 years and started with upright roof mounts, fork mount roof mounts, and platform hitch racks. The easiest platform rack to use is hands down. The HR Sportrider 2 is a great rack, but it doesn't fit all frame types very well. I bought a brand new platform rack that was heavy and awkward to install and remove, but it was also as solid as it could be. I decided to try it out because of the low cost. There is a I am now all smiles. The rack is only 20 pounds. I don't have to break my back installing and removing it. There is a Sometimes I leave it on the car for a ride the next day, and it folds up flat against the vehicle. There is a Hitch lock and key is an optional accessory which I never understood why locking your rack from theft would be an option. It works on any frame size, even bikes with fenders. There is a The bike is mounted to the rack with no jumping because of the 3 mounting points. There is a This rack is 1/3 the cost of my heavy duty platform rack and does everything just as well. There is a This is a viable contender if you are hesitant to spend $500 on a bike rack.
👤I needed a 3-bike rack and found this one from a Thule Pro2. This rack is not as good as a Thule or a Yakima. I bought it even though it was available. Double-checking the instructions is a must when assembling it. It is easy to mix up the inner and outer sections. The bolts that hold them down are cheap, and tend to strip. First, get everything in the right place, then snug the bolts. The rack on the car is very secure. There is a little bounce but every rack has that. There is a It will hold four mountain bikes. The loading and securing of them is different than the Thule. You have to be precise with placement, pedal position, centering, and angle the frame strap just right. I'm sure it will get easier with practice, but the Thule was just slap it in and go. It takes a while. The bikes were secure after a long trip. The rack does its job. There are better and worse racks out there. If the directions were clearer, I would give it a star.
It only takes a few minutes to assemble and the upright ratchet arms can be adjusted to different bike frame sizes. Keeps your bike stable. Sturdy design includes a built in anti-wobble hitch device. You can save yourself space. You can conveniently store it when it folds in to a compact mode. It'sTILE: It's compatible with 1-1/4" and 2-inch receiver Hitch. The maximum weight capacity is 35 Ibs per bike. There are separate accessory sales. The fat tire wheel trays have a Locking Hitch Pin or Security Cable.
👤I bought this rack 4 years ago. This is a capable and reliable carrier. It is light and well made. It looks like the picture. I won't be able to add anything new to the reviews, but I will give you better pictures so that you can make your own decision on the construction. I still use a strap to hold the wheels to the metal loops, even though I think it will probably not go anywhere once the top tube is pulled down. I only use the rack for one bike and it only weighs 21 pounds. It's easy to carry in one hand when it's not on the car.
👤I just bought this and broke it during assembly. I am hopeful that the company will replace the broken parts because the instructions were not clear and I used a magnifying glass to see them. If you purchase this, I've learned 3 things you might find helpful. The set screw on the 2" sleeve is difficult to remove, as well as several other reviewers. I needed a small pipe to slip over the allen wrench to turn it. The instructions don't say where the various washers and lock washers go. The lock washers go on the two large set screws, the 4 flat washers go on the quick adjust knobs, and the other washers go on the two large set screws. Match them up with the right size screws. If the "quick adjust" does not tighten easily, do not turn harder as that will strip them. They will tighten easily if you switch them to the other side of the tire holder rack. I stripped 2 of the quick change knobs before figuring out my mistake. I hope he replaces them.
👤Just returned from the road trip and had a vintage Schwinn Hollywood women's bike. I bought a cross-bar accessory for the bike so that the hook on the rack could be tightened. I used straps on both wheels, but I don't think that's necessary, the bike rode solid as a rock. I think you're doing something wrong if your bike falls off the rack. I'm going to take this rack on a 4,000 mile road trip and will update this review after I'm sure there are no issues. I can't see how there will be problems with it. The assembly instructions are so bad that I'm going with four stars. If step 1 is meaningless, you're going to have trouble putting this together. If yours comes like mine, you will also have left-over parts. I called the helpful customer service people in Canada to make sure I had it right after figuring out where they should go. There is a You will probably have 4 washers. The sliding wheel trays are locked down by those under the knobs. When you put them on, they won't be left over. There is a You are likely to have two lock washers. The factory left the upright arm and the two side arms off if yours comes with them. The two nuts hold the two bolts on the brackets. You will have to disassemble and reassemble them. Make sure to get the bike back together if you want to avoid the risk of dumping it on the road.
