👤I don't rate a product poorly because of the shipping. The bottle was put in a USPS envelope. There was no protection around the bottle and the top was not secured with tape. When the bottle leaks, put it in a ziploc so it won't go everywhere. It only leaked a small amount, but it smells terrible. You know how it smells if you've used it. This stuff works well for me. I have to keep 6 bikes that are ridden in the mud and on wet roads. I like this stuff as chain lube. I live in a place where it rains for 8 months out of the year. In the winter, I get road dirt and mud. The road is good in the summer but not in the trail riding season. I take care of the bikes for my family. A lot of bikes. Between the weather and all the bikes, I don't want to be removing chains every 200 miles. I wipe the chains off after applying Progold. When my bike is covered in mud, I don't get all the grit out. I think a new chain is $20. I would rather replace it every 1-2 years than spend hours maintaining it. Every year, my road bike chain is replaced. I learned that lesson the hard way.

👤I haven't received my ceramic wet jug yet. It is being delivered at the end of the review. Here is my opinion on this product. I am familiar with "Ceramic Technology" because I use ceramic cartridge bearings in all of my wheel hubs, rear derailleur pulley wheels and any component that I use on my "Custom Built" black 2012 Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent. When I saw that there was a lube with "Ceramic" properties added in it, it was a "NO BRAINER" for me. My regular wet lube does the same thing on my Wipperman 10-speed "Gold/Brass" colored chains as it does on my (3) Wipper, and I am waiting on my Wipper. The Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent is a "Black" color and I called it "The Black Widow" so I decided to set it up with the Wipperman Connex. Since the last review of this product, the Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent requires at least three 114 link chains for the "Drivetrain". My personal evaluation is here. This is the best lube for the Chaina and Drive system. My experience with my drive system was that it was more Quartier/less noisier and did not need a lot of lubrication. I use a Syringe that is designed for filling printer ink cartridges, and I also use a drop of lube on the chain and on my other component on my Trike. The Finish Line Wet Ceramic was easy to clean off of my hands and Trike/Recumbent components. After every ride, I wash and lubricate my Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent, so that it is ready for the next ride. I get comments from other Cyclists on how clean my rig is. The Finish Line Wet Ceramic Lube is light and not heavy like other lubes on the market and it does exactly what it is advertised to do. I highly recommend this lacing for any cyclist who likes to keep their bikes in tip top shape.

👤I love this stuff. I switched to the normal version of this lube a year ago after being turned on by my LBS. I think this stuff is a bit higher than I was looking for. I look for a lube that will keep my chain quiet on long rides. I've tried everything, and the only thing that worked was Purple Extreme. I think they changed their formula to make it seem thinner. The old purple extreme was very long-lived and this stuff reminds me of that. After only 30 miles in the mtns, I don't like a dry, squeaky drivetrain. lube has to perform for me in all conditions, no excuses, I don't care if I rode through a river or mud. This is a bill that Pro Gold Extreme fits very well. I refuse to buy it from REI because my LBS doesn't carry it, so I get it on Amazon. Even if you think your magic lube is the best, it's not compared to ProGold X.

👤The best lube is available. I've tried them all and this is the type A bike racer. After a ride, wipe the chain down with a dry microfiber to remove dirt. There are two more Apply ProGold liberally to chain. Apply firm pressure to microfiber cloth on top and bottom of chain as you slowly back pedal crank again to remove dirty lube applied in prior step 4) If this is done after every ride, you can expect the quietest, lowest friction pedaling experience possible. It is not intended to be used just before a ride. Pre-ride, tire pressures are to be checked.

👤This worked great during one use. Chain has never been clean. Was absolutely thrilled! There is a I discovered a design flaw. The plastic tabs that hold the clip on broke. I can hold it closed manually with a little extra effort, but there are now tiny little holes where the plastic tabs used to be, which is causing degreaser to leak everywhere. I was stupid to try this at midnight in my living room, but I was smart enough to put my bike on a blanket and degrease it.

Simple Green was used for my cleaning solution. Some reviewers used this, but I didn't like it. I like Simple Green for other reasons. I'll use this jig on my seven-speed and try Dawn liquid. I lubed the chain after running it through plain water. Replacing my master link with a normal link was the best answer I could come up with. The keeper was moved closer to the chain wheel with the help of a plate. It seems like a lot of work to avoid removing the chain. I will not dock stars for my mistakes. I will feel better after I use these purchases to clean my other bike's chain. I don't ride much lately.

👤The Finish Line Speed Degreaser is the fastest degreaser I have used. It's expensive ($9.99-$15.99) but it's so good. You can watch stuff come out of chains that you already cleaned. I usually start with Park Tool Chain Brite in a spray bottle and use it after to make sure everything is clean. I get 2 chain cleanings from a can. I am very picky. I know I use too much. ZEP used to make a 60% or 90% heptane aerosol quick degreaser which could be had for $8, but they removed a very high percentage of heptane in the new formula, so ZEP is no longer a choice as a substitute. I checked at least 60+ products from ZEP,WD40, automotive stores, and Liquid Wrench but could not find a similar formula. The starting fluid is a good cleaner, but it is highly inflammable and can leave oily messes thanks to upper cylinder lubricants. Go for the finish line! I need to use a chain cleaner. It is made by Finish Line and is similar to most other branded chemicals and lubricants made by the same company. The history lesson is done.

👤Very little fuss. I own a city road bike. My opinion is that your greasy grimy shit is different. It's urban greasy crud. The parking lot where I park prior to my favorite bike riding routes was sprayed over. The bike was turned upside down. I was forced to make a different selection due to supply issues, and am happy I did. I like the Finish Line Speed Degreaser more. The can does a better job of cleaning than my previous cleaner did. It has a pleasant smell. There is less fluid volume in this can compared to Clean Streak. Finish Line Speed Degreaser lasts me as long as I can remember. I think it's a more effective product that is delivered with greater pressure. I have used Finish Line Speed Degreaser on many surfaces. The cleaner has not caused damage to painted, delicate, plastic, anodized, etc. Thank you later if you decide to buy some.

👤My bike chain is easy to maintain with the White Lightning ride all conditions spray lube. I drive a Trek dual sport 3 on and off the road and like all bikes, the chain accumulates dirt. I degrease and lubricate the chain about once a week. I use mineral spirits on a paper towel as a degreaser to get the heavy junk off the chain and it shines. The rollers need to be cleaned. This is the most important part of maintaining a bike chain and what I really like about this product is the spray version of White Epic Lightning Ride lube. I use it to loosen and wash away the dirt that gets under the rollers and the outside of the chain, so that the chain is very clean and lubricated. I let the lube go for about an hour and then wiped the excess with a paper towel. After the ride, I want the excess lube to be set up. It's about 24 hours before my next ride. This product loosens, and washes away the dirt that I can't access. We all know our bikes need lubrication. If you spray across the chain horizontally, it will blow lube all over the place. Instead, I hold the tip over the chain and use the thin plastic straw in the nozzle to gently squirt the lube downward over the rollers as I slowly crank the pedals backwards. I can see that the rollers are being washed and the dirt is being lifted. I need to make a single pass and let it set. My bike has a disc brake and if oil gets on the brakes, I can hose them up. I don't blast this stuff on my bike because I want to make sure it doesn't get on the disc brakes. I place a sheet of thin cardboard between the chain and the wheel to keep it from being sprayed. I hold paper towels under the chain to catch drips. I put some rags under the bike. I wanted to give you some ideas on how to use this product. I don't recommend blasting the stuff all over the cassette because of the danger of spatter and over spray. I recommend it to anyone interested in good bike chain maintenance because it is a great product, does a great job for me, and is a great gift. Enjoy and be safe.

👤I have tried a lot of different lubes. Clean Ride, Rock n' Roll, ProGold, Finish Line, Dumond Tech, Squirt, and White Lightning are all on top of my head. They are all good in one aspect but not in others. The ride seems to have a good balance. I have done a few double centuries after applying this product, and no one sings of chain noise at the end of each ride. I usually just apply fresh lube and wipe off the excess, no special cleaning like some other lubes require, and clean my chain once every few hundred miles. I don't see a lot of heavy rain in Northern California, but I had no problem riding 100 miles in light but constant rain with this product.

👤I have to say that this stuff works well for me. I did very little scrubbing in the before and after photos I took. When I clean my mountain bike, I don't go for showroom quality. I used a toothbrush and some cleaner to get around the cassette. I used a rag on the chain. After cleaning around the chain, I spray a light coat on it. It is easy to keep track of and only one bottle.

I usually use a chain scrubber filled with Simple Green liquid degreaser and Rock n Roll lube to finish it off. I decided to try the 1-step cleaner to see if it works. The chain scrubber didn't pick up all the leftover dirt. It acts like a water jet that blasts away all the dirt and debris, leaving the chain like new. I don't think it can match the lubrication of Rock n Roll, but it's pretty darn good if I have to compare it to this item. I followed the instructions and applied a second coat. I'm very happy with this product. I would apply the Rock n Roll lube as a second layer every couple hundred miles if I added this to my usual cleaning routine. I worry about shop mechanics using this stuff because of how toxic it is. I've tried many alternatives. The other organic options are not very good and the light natural oils don't last long. I don't use wax lubricants. This and other teflon-based lubes are the only options left.

I own a lot of different types of lube. I've been interested in lubricating oils containing PTFE. Wet and dry. I've found this to be the best performing and most versatile of the 5 or so lubes that I've purchased on Amazon. How they hold up once they've been applied remains to be seen. Bike chains in arid/dusty conditions are the only thing I prefer dry or film PTFE lubes for. It is difficult to remove dust and grime in places where performance is at risk. This lube doesn't seem to be prone to that kind of build up, so maybe the PTFE comes in. It's hard to say. There is a I've found it works well for door hinges, lubricating tap bits before tapping holes, and hair clippers, but dry lubrication is not worth the risk. anyway lubricating sand paper for polishing, lubricating sliding door & window tracks, lubricating the ball bearing on an old fan, and so on, is not a concern. It's done in the factory. I'm not going to experiment at the moment. I used it to assist a spray catalyst on a rusted on brake rotor in a moment of desperation.

If you have a door hinge on your bike, it's great for pivot points or brackets, but if you have a chain that's dry, it'll be black goop in no time. This goop will hit you in the face. I have switched to a dry lube that has better results. This isn't the best for a bike chain if you ride in wet conditions.

It would be better if it was a pull out type like you see on other small oil bottles, so you wouldn't have to put it in the tip of the bottle and then put it in the tape for storage. The oil is good, but it has a bit of an odor. If you don't use a lot, the odor isn't bad. The oil has conditioners in it that help clean the gears of old oil, which is awesome, and worth a tiny bit of odor.
