Their four-sided scrubbing action makes it easy to clean chains. It was made from plastic that was strong and chemical resistant. It was designed to be able to out perform and out perform the competition. The package has a width of 17 and a height of 4.
👤I decided to use a chain cleaner after reading reviews on several of them. It works well and does not require a lot of fluid. The hook on this one makes it a hands free tool, and you don't need to hold it while you turn the crank. If you allow the hook to do its job, the chain will go smoothly to the ring. The derailleur cage hook eliminates the chance of the chain being guided incorrect and jumping off the chain ring if you hold onto the unit while turning the crank. I think some of the chain cleaners that have to be held while turning the crank could be more difficult to use. It was easy to break if dropped. I was careful to avoid impacts and had no problems with it.
👤The thing started to fall apart after I used it four times. I am very careful with my stuff. One of the two retaining clips has come off, as well as the hooks that hold the top and bottom halves together. Attached are pictures. I could still use the product, but it's not the point. This should last years under normal use, but it is made with cheap and brittle plastic that will break quickly. If longevity is important to you, avoid it. If not, be prepared to buy replacements. It might be worth paying a premium for a product that comes in blue. The thing is close to being dead. I use tape to hold the clips together when they are broken. It doesn't clean the chain thoroughly. I am junking it and going with a master link so I can remove the chain and clean it before I rebuild. Pedro had a "Lifetime Warranty".
👤My old Park Tool chain cleaner worked okay when it was new, but now the chains on my bikes are super clean. Pedro's chain cleaner got good results when I used Simple Green on one chain and a generic orange cleaner on another chain. There is a The build quality and the ability to order/replace internal parts are positives. There is a As a third hand, the derailleur hanger really helps. The "click" release mechanism is something I like. The reduced amount of solvent required is a nice bonus. There is a I had trouble working the hinge type connection on the derailleur side of the tool. It made it difficult to get the thing on my road bike chain. This bike has a cramped rear triangle so you might be fine. If you put your bike on a stand or hang it from something, make sure your chain line is parallel to the ground. If you want to keep your bike clean, put down a cloth, newspaper, or just clean it outside. There is a It's a good idea to do a cycle. If you want to get any remaining solvent off the chain, you have to empty out the used solvent. Before applying lube, let the chain dry.
The country of origin is the United States. It is possible to clean chains, gears, derailleurs and disc brake rotors. Clean streak works fast to wash away dirt and grease. The streak dries in a few minutes. The first and most effective dry degreaser is cycling.
👤It be bad! Truly bad ass. Will melt grease and grime off your chain. Unless you're an addiction, use outdoors. If you are cleaning your chain in Qaryat al-Fw, Arabia, and water can only be found in camels' humps, you can use a two-edged sword. You should re-lube your bike on the second day. You're golden. This stuff is really bad. I would like it to be less expensive. It's still cheap.
👤This product does some degreasing, but I had to go back over my chain and gears with a different brand to get my chain back to the original color. There is a If you find a review from someone that uses this and similar products every day, you should trust them more than me, as I own 3 mountain bikes that I ride in the dirt and mud almost every day. It doesn't seem to get all of the grease, oil and dirt off after comparing this product to others. After using a lot of this product on my bike chain, it was mostly free of oil and dirt, however the chain was still a dingy grey color and clearly wasn't anything close to the original color. The chain went back to looking like a new chain after I used another product that I've had success with. I was surprised to see that there were so many great reviews for this product, but I have to concede that it is possible that I got a bad bottle or batches. Unless I find out that my bottle is somehow compromised, I won't use or purchase this product again. There is a If it hadn't been several months since I bought this product, I would have returned it. The degreaser is only moderately effective, it's a decent value for the money, but the cost to benefit ratio is quite high making it low value to me.
👤This product has made a huge difference for last minute cleaning when there is not much water. It does its job. There is a The stream is very directed and doesn't scatter. It is emitted with force from the can. The product is capable of a clean without touching the chain. I recommend applying a quick link to your chain so that you can remove the chain and clean it. If you don't take care, the grease can get into other parts of the bike and cause it to be dirty. I don't want the spray on the other parts of the bike. I have doubts that this stuff can degrade the carbon frame, but it still seems volatile and I don't want it on my skin. You don't want to use this in a closed environment. A garage with the door open is not much for me. There is a The can contains a lot of product. I don't think I'm halfway done after four cleanings. The chain removal has added to that. There is a It's easy to tell how strong this product is from the smell. I wish I'd tried cleaning years ago because it's very quick and effective.
Get outside and ride. It's easy to use chain lubricant to get your bike out of the garage. The perfect size will not take up much room in your tool box. Ride with confidence. Scientists, bicycle retailers, and professional mechanics tested theWD-40 BIKE. The difference of a professional grade formula is not the same as the difference of a amateur grade formula. The community approved it. At local bike events around the globe, the WD-40 BIKE sets up hands-on wash stations. They provide riders of all levels an opportunity to engage with each product for essential bike maintenance when they visit and set up shop. There are inhibs on Corinthian. A clean bike is fast. The bike is awd-40. All Conditions Chain Lube is made of corrosive agents for long-term optimal chain performance. No-WAX FORMULA. Chain life for your bike can be extended with the help of the All Conditions Chain Lube. The formula won't build up inside the chain links or the drivetrain. You can ride in both dry and wet conditions with chains.
👤This is a base dry lube. Ptfe powder is added to my lubes. The dry lube works well. There are a few great hacks that I am sharing with you. 1. Add a half a spoon to the powder and shake it. It makes a difference. 2. Keep your driveline clean. The more power you have to put to the wheels, the cleaner it is. 3. Put the gear range in the middle and backwards to clean with a cheap nylon brush. The brush is on the cassette. 4. Then wipe with a towel. It is easy to grab the chain below the jockey wheel. 5. Before and after each ride, wipe your chain. This makes the drive line last longer. A dirty chain costs 30 watt more than a clean one. I'm not a roady. I am a mountain biker and if you neglect it it gets dirty fast. Follow the habits for a long time. It makes a huge difference. A clean driveline is a game-changer even if you don't use ptfe powder. The ptfe prolongs the life of the lube. I hope this helps you.
👤The point is, why the hell would Amazon put all their products under one description? Sheesh. It is confusing, annoying and uncalled for, for a product line.
👤I decided to try the new bike chain lube. I cleaned the chain with a wire brush and then wiped it with a rag. I sprayed the chain with this chain lube when I changed the crank assembly on my mountain bike. I was amazed at how quiet it became when I rode it for the real test. The results are so far good, did not see any splatter from slinging off the chain, the gear selector works smoothly, and it is easier to pedal. So far, so good. I like it. That's all.
👤This is what my mechanic recommends and it's good enough for me and my bike. I think it works very well in the chain. Don't confuse the specialty bike chain lube with the ordinary bike chain lube that everyone in the shop has, which is a dust magnet.
👤I don't think of a point in my life when I don't have a can of WD-40 nearby. Is the door closing? A few squirts solved the problem. I thought I would try it on my bike chain. I cleaned the chain well before applying the lubricant. Went for a ride. It was a big disappointment. There is a The chain attracted so much dust at the end of the ride that it was completely black. It was like what happened with the regularWD-40. This never happened with my other lube, it lasted about 300 miles before I needed to clean and lube again. I won't have this on my chain again. I will probably use it to stop doors from squeaking.
👤They say "lube" in the title. Maybe it's because this page has a lot of products. The cleaner worked well on my cassette. I used a strong hose to wash it off after I left it on. I didn't need a second application or brushing, but I was expecting it. The product is great at the "add-on" price.
The most used cycling lubrication is in the world. It was made using the highest quality ingredients. Greatly reduces bearing and drivetrain wear. A wet-style lube that stays wet for maximum performance in wet weather and long distances. For pedaling over long distances. Quiet and smooth, great for racing. The chemistry is patented.
👤I think it works. I don't see much difference between wet chain lubes and dry chain lubes. I've used every one of them. There is a property that tends to vary product to product. It drips off your chain. Too thick. It doesn't sink into the links. Finish Line's product excelled here. It is in the right spot. It soaks in nicely but doesn't leak. My chains always look great after a quick wash. Would buy again. * The product works exactly as advertised, the fit/finish is what you'd expect from a good value product, and it ships in retail packaging. The product works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect, it might have a minor flaw, or it ships in undisclosed non-retail packaging. Product works great but differs from description, so I would change a few things. It's barely works but can be useful if you try 1 STAR. It is a waste of money if it is useless and does not perform its intended function.
👤This stuff is amazing. My ebike has a day and night difference. I use an Ultrasonic cleaner first. You will have a clean and smooth drivetrain when you apply this lube. After the initial application, it stays clean and you can keep applying lube until you feel the chain needs another deep clean.
👤I haven't received my ceramic wet jug yet. It is being delivered at the end of the review. Here is my opinion on this product. I am familiar with "Ceramic Technology" because I use ceramic cartridge bearings in all of my wheel hubs, rear derailleur pulley wheels and any component that I use on my "Custom Built" black 2012 Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent. When I saw that there was a lube with "Ceramic" properties added in it, it was a "NO BRAINER" for me. My regular wet lube does the same thing on my Wipperman 10-speed "Gold/Brass" colored chains as it does on my (3) Wipper, and I am waiting on my Wipper. The Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent is a "Black" color and I called it "The Black Widow" so I decided to set it up with the Wipperman Connex. Since the last review of this product, the Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent requires at least three 114 link chains for the "Drivetrain". My personal evaluation is here. This is the best lube for the Chaina and Drive system. My experience with my drive system was that it was more Quartier/less noisier and did not need a lot of lubrication. I use a Syringe that is designed for filling printer ink cartridges, and I also use a drop of lube on the chain and on my other component on my Trike. The Finish Line Wet Ceramic was easy to clean off of my hands and Trike/Recumbent components. After every ride, I wash and lubricate my Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent, so that it is ready for the next ride. I get comments from other Cyclists on how clean my rig is. The Finish Line Wet Ceramic Lube is light and not heavy like other lubes on the market and it does exactly what it is advertised to do. I highly recommend this lacing for any cyclist who likes to keep their bikes in tip top shape.
You will get a bicycle chain clean tool. A high-pressure spray that quickly gets to work will allow you to return to riding before you say "Oh wow!". It was difficult on grossEASE. You can easily cut through the most stubborn of dirt, including waterproof grease and chain wax, to make your bike chain and cassette run smooth. Zero-residue form. Their unique formula will leave no sticky mess so that you can clean up and saddle up again in no time at all. Quick-drying: The Muc-Off Quick Drying Chain Degreaser is formulated to dry super efficiently and is suitable for use on chains, gears, Mechs and individual components. Muc-Off Quick Drying Chain Degreaser is an essential for your post-ride clean up.
👤I tried to remove factory grease from my chain. It left 100% of the grease on the chain, but it emptied in a minute. This is a big waste, but I love other muc-off products.
👤The can goes quickly, but it is easy to clean the cassette. Only short bursts.
Industrial uses include engines, machinery, floor scrubbers, tools, pressure washers, parts washing, exhaust hoods, and more. Grease and Grime Fighter are powerful. There is a convenient refill port in a bio-solvent formula. It is safe to use on multiple surfaces. This formula will prevent glass from being damaged. Non-Flammable, Non-Corrosive, Non-Abrasive, Low-Odor Formula can be used in food processing facilities. The formula is 50-State Voc compliant. A1, A2, A4, A8 and B1 are registered.
👤I have owned a folding table for a decade. I used to cook chicken and fish on it when I used my deep fryer. I didn't always cover it with a newspaper. The result was sticky, nasty, old, dried oil. I've tried to clean it with other people. The years of caked on grease made boiling hot water not match. You can see the picture for yourself. The right side was worse than the left, so I left it in the picture to serve as a reference. I needed to replace my folding table. The table will be as good as new when I finish cleaning the left panel. Buy this stuff. It's the truth!
👤I tried using this degreaser on an older bicycle chain, but it wasn't very effective at cleaning the chain, and it was very bad for grease and crud. It was similar to spraying parts with water. The concentrated dish detergent water solution was more effective.
👤I would give it a 10 star rating. I bought it because of the black shoe scuffs on the vinyl of my car that my brother visited and I found the passenger seat wouldn't move back. Sitting like a preying insect did amazing damage. I don't exaggerate when I say it came off like butter. I sprayed lightly over a small area and wiped it with Mr. Clean sponges. There was no need for a lot of rubbing. It was used for a gutter trough repair that required cleaning before it was pasted on the patch. I wiped the degreaser off with clean water. The product is made in the USA and the workers are treated well.
👤It appears that there are no detergents in this stuff. I have not been able to get anything clean using this product, other than a little dirt that a wet rag would take care of. I read the reviews and bought this bottle. I was not expecting much from the cleaner, but I am not disappointed because the bottle is exactly what I need to put WD-40 in. This one is for you if you are looking for a bottle.
👤This stuff was great at removing oil stains from clothes. There were stains in cotton clothing that had been washed. There is a It is about as effective as Simple Green when it comes to cleaning parts and tools. A very mild product. It's not effective for removing grease and oil. Use a brake or a cleaner for that.
👤The bottle was worth the price alone, so I bought it. I was surprised by how much I liked it. I've used everything from cheap purple degreaser to crazy expensive products, so I didn't expect much. The slimy feel of most degreasers irritated me. I have to remove the tools and projects with brake cleaner or alcohol. The Degreaser doesn't seem to have that problem. It isn't as strong as other degreasers. It's strong enough for garage chores. I'm concerned that the gallon refill bottles have disappeared from local stores. Hopefully this won't be discontinued. I will still have a nice spray bottle if that is the case.
Includes a bag. It can be made in the USA or imported. A clean brush. The brush has a tapered shape. A frame cleaning brush. The soaping brush is soft.
👤There's not much that these brushes can do to clean a rag. I thought they were worth having, but after considering how useful they really are, I decided to return them. If you're really trying to make your bike sparkling clean than you're better off rinsing it off with a soapy rag and then drying it, rather than dusting it off.
👤When I saw this product, I wondered who would buy Park cleaning brushes. Park tools are generally very high quality and worth the money, but what about brushes? Who cares? I was surprised that there aren't many generic cleaning brushes out there, that there are only the same price as the Park brushes, and that none of them are custom made for bikes like these. There is a I bought them and they're fantastic. It makes cleaning my mountain bikes easier.
👤These are the first brushes I've ever purchased, so I can't compare them to other brands. They made cleaning my bike very easy. Each brush is designed for a specific part of the cleaning process, and each seems to do its job well, with the right amount of stiffness or not-stiffness, etc. I removed my wheels while I was cleaning my bike, so I can't say how well they clean in the tight spots. There is a The brushes are good, but they aren't going to do much for the chain.
👤I was a little disappointed with the brush set from Park Tool. They are not that tough. I might have moved one star up if one of them had stronger bristles. They are just too timid when it comes to cleaning the whole bike with one of the brushes. There is a One of the brushes should have been heavy-duty. I am not looking for a rasp.
👤This brush set is great for cleaning your bike. I race in the mud and snow and keep my bike clean with these. It gets into the tight spots on the frame between the spokes and the chain rings. The large blue brush is soft and won't mar your paint. The brush is soft. The gray brush is very dry. The brush is very stiff. I love the whole set.
👤I used this set for the first time. It makes cleaning the bike more efficient. I used a sponge and toothbrush from the house to clean my bike. The cassette brush is a great way to clean my bike, and it is worth the money to have a dedicated set of brushes. Park Tool has a lot of maintenance videos on their website that I like to support when I can. The best way to use this set is shown in a video on YouTube.
👤I bought these on a whim, and I really like them. The conical brush is great for getting into small areas without scratching and the blue soft brush is great for cleaning spokes. It's not as much of a time saver as you might think, since the brushes will be full of dust, but you will clean your bike with these and spend the same amount of time cleaning them. The quality of clean is high.
Powerful soy-extracted solvents break down grease, grime, and stubborn soils. Formulated for use in chain washers. Non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable, non-corrosive. It's safe for your bike's paint. It works well as a general-purpose parts-cleaning fluid. The flip-top lid makes pouring easy.
👤This is a great degreaser for bikes that have regular maintenance. It is best used with a chain-tool cleaner such as the Finish Line Pro Chain Cleaner. Some people are disappointed that they compared this to Windex or Dawn dish soap. This is a non-toxic, non-flammable product that won't have the strength of an acetone like degreaser that they might be expecting. It is not a spray-on, dry-off type of degreaser and is not suitable for caked-in grease, dried gunk or old lubricants on poorly maintained bikes. This is an Eco-friendly degreaser that is best for routine bike maintenance. I use it on our mountain bikes to get the job done.
👤It was used in a park tool chain cleaner. It should be better than solvent-based in my hood. Don't want solvent dirty and bad should be the new fad. I can't vouch for solvent-based cleaning, but this chain degreaser has great meaning. I think it's a good idea.
👤This was the first time I had ever cleaned a bicycle chain, and this degreaser worked perfectly. There is a I used the solution TWICE to dump the black fluid on my chain. Twice more with plain water as a rinse, which turned cloudy. After applying new lubricant, I went for a nine-mile ride and my chain was quiet for the first time in months. It's a good thing. I chose this product because I live near wetlands, so it was a strong selling point. It works so well that it's icing on the cake.
👤When you are waiting for it to break grease and wax loose, you have to take that into account. This one takes a lot more time to complete than a degreaser like Krud Kutter but it does get the job done and isn't as harsh.
👤The chain on my new road bike was tacky grease. I ride it to work almost every day. I put off degreasing it for about 5 months. I applied it to my derailers. I used an abrasive brush to scrub my Chain after soaking it in the solution. I had to dump out the solution three times. There was a lot of grease on it. I spent 15 minutes with the chain scrubin. It isn't clean in between the side plates or inside of the chain. Some of the sprockets came off of it. It is not much. The derailer was the same. I had a feeling that the solution was just dawn dish soap and water. I used to use a chain degreaser from WD-40. It should be sprayed on, hosed off and cleaned.
👤The degreaser is very light. It was not much of a mess to handle, unless there was oil in the degreaser. It is easy to clean off grease in water because it emulsifies it. I clean my bicycle by removing the chain and placing it in a basin. Even though runaway is a soapy degreaser, it can be used as a thicker, oily degreaser like a park tool or even paint thinner. I was asked to rate the thickness of the product. The thin nature of this product allows it to clean effectively.
Two cylinders for multiple use. bristles are sturdy enough to clean in between cassettes, derailleur areas that are difficult to get into to clear the mud and dirt, perfect for most of your drive-train cleaning struggles. The bicycle clean brush set includes: bike clean mitt, 2pcs gear clean sprocket scraper, 2pcs gear clean sprocket brush, 2pcs tarpered detail brush, tire scrubber, and 3-sided bristle cloth. Attach the cleaner to the chain and use the pedal to turn it. The bicycle has to be elevated or flipped over in order to work. Their bicycle cleaning tools can be used as a daily household cleaning tool and can even do basic maintenance work on your bike. The bicycle cleaning brushes are made of plastic and corals and are easy to carry.
👤It is inexpensive to clean our dirt bikes after a ride. The kids are taught to take care of their toys. Our CRF450X, CRF150F, CRF70F and CRF50F have never looked so clean. If you want to prevent dirt from sticking to your next ride, spray the bike all down with Shout Stain remover before you ride, and after you ride, if you want to avoid grips, seat, and disc brakes.
👤This isn't a professional cleaning kit. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, it's a good purchase. I bought it for the multi-direction brush to clean the sprockets, space around the bearings, and the chain. It's possible to buy something more stiff to clean up built up debris. There is a If you do any type of consistent riding then you need a cleaning kit. You should get some oil and alcohol and learn which items need lubrication.
👤The cleaning tools are too flimsy to remove gunk. I'm trying to think of a use for the brushes that I could toss out. The brushes are very soft. It's not enough to remove chain or gunk. A wet rag with mineral spirits works better than a dry rag. The shining or washing glove hand piece is useful. A rag was also better. A better cleaning kit is a good idea. I did.
👤The tools are not intended for cleaning a bicycle, but for a motorcycle. Will they work? They can be made to work, but they are not good for use. Park or Finish Line is the best place to get bicycle tools.
👤There is a great set of items to clean your bike. You have a variety of brushes to clean the chain, tires, brake-pad areas and other tough to reach areas.
👤There are nice items to clean a bike. Well made and good value for money. If you need it for cleaning bikes, buy it!
👤Cleaning tools for bicycles are very good.
👤It is good for what it is. Gets bike clean.
👤It's cheap to throw away a bike that gets too oily. There is a My first kit was my second.
👤The brushes could be a bit stiff. But okay.
👤It was kind of useless. karcher is 100 times better than narrow brushers at removing dust and mud from the kog. Maybe you can use it when you are on the road. The brush for the chain is pointless. Glove-sponge is cool, but you can buy it in your regular store for a euro.
👤Hallo die Brsten ist es bestellt, so das die Brste. The angepasst ist. I was aber in war. Htte, jede andere gerade Brste. Sie ist das Bild gendert. I am mal. So hin. I am aber etwas gergert.
👤Unos euros ahorrados en limpieza de bici. La bici esté perfecta.
Under extreme temperatures and humidity, high-grade petroleum oils provide optimum lubrication. A heavy-duty bicycle chain cleaner with EcoTech Cleaner and Degreaser Concentrate. Cleaner clips directly to the chain. The three-brush rotating design and scrubber pads clean the chain quickly. A 30-degree exit angle eliminates mess. In just one minute, you can clean your chain.
👤This worked great during one use. Chain has never been clean. Was absolutely thrilled! There is a I discovered a design flaw. The plastic tabs that hold the clip on broke. I can hold it closed manually with a little extra effort, but there are now tiny little holes where the plastic tabs used to be, which is causing degreaser to leak everywhere. I was stupid to try this at midnight in my living room, but I was smart enough to put my bike on a blanket and degrease it.
👤I bought this chain cleaner to clean my bike's chain. The bike has a flip-flops hub. I own a seven speed that needs occasional cleaning. I bought the chain movement tool at the Amazon.com store to allow chain movement while the wheel is removed. I might use this set-up to clean my seven-speed. I might find a different way to clean it. I was warned not to use this cleaner on a bike. I should have been more careful with the reviews. I thought the Sportixx chain keeper would give me enough time to clean the chain. There is a It can be done. It's debatable whether it's worth the effort. I was able to do it, but I need to find a better way. If possible, I would like to keep my drive chain. It might be a good idea to remove the chain. I removed my back wheel, but what I did was not optimal. I attached my chain keeper to the dropout. I moved the keeper to a gap in the dropout because the chain didn't have enough slack. Not every bike has this gap. The Finish Line chain cleaner had enough slack to be attached. There are five I held the plastic jig with no handle while turning the crank. The master-link of my chain worked perfectly when it passed through the jig. Simple Green was used for my cleaning solution. Some reviewers used this, but I didn't like it. I like Simple Green for other reasons. I'll use this jig on my seven-speed and try Dawn liquid. I lubed the chain after running it through plain water. Replacing my master link with a normal link was the best answer I could come up with. The keeper was moved closer to the chain wheel with the help of a plate. It seems like a lot of work to avoid removing the chain. I will not dock stars for my mistakes. I will feel better after I use these purchases to clean my other bike's chain. I don't ride much lately.
👤The device works very well. The video and instructions don't mention how messy it can get. I made a mess of it the first time I used it. There is a Before you put the device on the chain, you need to steady your bike. If you have any oil or dirt on the cogs, remove it first. Make sure you clean outside in an area where you don't mind a little oily splatter. You should have some rags or paper towels with you when you clean the chain. Make sure you have a sink and a bar of Lava to clean your hands. The device does a great job of cleaning the chain. You need to have a place to dispose of the used degreaser solution and a place to clean the device and old rags after that. If you store your bike indoors, be sure to put a mat or rags under it. After cleaning and drying, I applied the lube and my chain works great again.
3 sponges were included. The ultimate detailing tool! It's perfect for cleaning your rear cassette, front chain rings, derailleur pulley wheels, hubs and spindles, brake arms, bottom bracket / crank interface, and more. Microfibers work by attracting, removing and holding dirt. Other materials move it around. Microfiber is better at removing dirt, grease and particles than any other material. Microfiber rope is easy to clean. It is easy to use. Place floss between gears and then move into other hard-to- clean areas like the pulley wheels, hubs and spindles.
👤There are 20 - 20 "ropes" in this box. The ropes are easy to catch on the teeth. I found "Blanket Yarn" in Walmart. It is not stranded and is not in the air. It is also available for $4.00.
👤The ropes get caught on the teeth and shred during use. You have bits of cloth in your cassette. If you pull tight and go slow, it's not as bad, but still a pain. It does get in better than a t-shirt, but can't fault it for being clean. There is a Blanket yarn is cheaper and works better than other alternatives. I will probably use that or a t-shirt for between ride cleaning and use the Ultrasonic cleaner to give it a good clean every couple of months.
👤The floss does a good job of cleaning the spaces between the cassettes, however, the fibers separate in the process and you have to pull them off the gear teeth. This can make the job a lot messier, which is partially what it is intended to eliminate. I used to use strips of old tee shirts with some degreaser to clean this area, but I may return to that if they improve the product. It needs to be reworked to be more functional.
👤You don't need gear floss until you've seen it in action. I had to use old tooth brushes and shoe laces to clean my bicycle gear pack. Neither worked well. When pulled between gears to clean dirt, grease, and other debris from your rear gear cassette, the gear floss is very well constructed and doesn't fray. It's easier to turn the pedals with a friend. I recently cleaned four bicycle gear sets and there was no mess. I'm sold.
👤There is no need for this. It does work and it is fun. I have used about 4 strands and they clean the gunk out of your chain and cassette just fine, but they tangle in the teeth constantly. There is a learning curve, but come on. The bike has floss. It is fun. There is a I would use a wire brush set or a pipe cleaner if you were looking for practicality. They are better for the environment. Side. These are a good substitute for a third hand tool as they fit between the links very well. It works very well if you just loop the floss through and tie a not to your desired length. Cut it and throw it away when you are done.
👤It was really nice to use. I don't regret having to pitch it after a good use. They seem to be better at removing dirt and grime than they are at loosening it. It looks incredibly clean after using this and immediately hosing down the drivetrain. It's hard to argue with having a couple boxes of these on hand.
