On a whim without much thought, I started bike commuting in June 2008. In October 2009 I went to the Solvang Women's Cycling Camp, and it was clearly the most physically challenging thing I had done a bike at that time. Did I complete all my rides up those mountains?? No way! But it made me want to push myself even further in the sport.
On October 16, 2010, I completed my first century ride - 105.73 miles to be exact.
June 5-11, 2011, I rode every single one of the 545 miles in AIDS/LifeCycle 10! It was an experience of a lifetime and showed me that if you commit your heart, mind, and body to something that you can do it!
I'll be riding in AIDS/LifeCycle 11 in June 2012 and I'm also now an ALC Training Rider leader.
In addition to cycling, I like to read, swim, hang out in the sun, and most importantly just chill out. I have an amazing husband, a needy dog, and a crazy talking cat. I have a full-time job that I love even though it means working with the public. I also squeeze in book reviews for FictionVixen Book Reviews when I can. When I am not riding my bike or reading a book you can find me at Zumba class where I love to dance but have decided after 4 years I don't care for the Cha Cha one bit. I'm also super into photography even though most of the time I still don't know what I'm doing.
While my main focus is blogging about my cycling trial and errors, I also blog about other things in life from time to time. I mean - just cycling can be boring for my friends and family to read as all but only one or two them bike themselves.
