I'm always on the hunt for ways to easily sell stuff I am getting rid of to bring in some extra cash. Usually if I think my item will be sold for $20 or more, I'll go through the process of trying to sell it instead of donating it. I've sold a lot of stuff on eBay over the years. But a few months ago I went in search of something more straightforward than eBay.
I discovered Mercari. The app is very easy to use, and I have sold some purses and sunglasses on it. For Mercari, you're going ship your items sold to the buyer. I like how easy they make shipping or figuring out how much shipping will cost you to help you set your sale price. I have a great post office within walking distance of my office, so that too makes it really easy for shipping sold items.
I learned about LetGo from my sister. LetGo is used more for selling items locally. Our local police department has specific parking spaces set up for these types of transactions which include camera monitoring. It makes for a comfortable way to meet someone you have sold something. This is becoming more common at police stations in the region, so check your local police department for the same setup.
OfferUp is a similar set up as LetGo. I listed several items on both LetGo and OfferUp this morning and already had multiple offers on one item. I just haven't had anyone confirm a meet time. But I'll keep at it.
