Age 39: A Few Facts

Last year I did a little post on my birthday with some quirky facts about me.

Another year has passed and I'm another year older and not necessarily any wiser. So here goes this year's set of facts on my birthday.
On my 18th birthday a friend gave me my first lottery ticket scratcher. I won $100.

The #1 most played song in my itunes library is by Robert Pattinson. (don’t judge!)

99% of my wardrobe consists of 3 colors: lots of black, lots of grey, and touches of pink. I have a pair of grey boots I wear probably 70% of each week in the winter time. Under those boots I always wear fun and brightly colored socks. On days when I have something tough to do at work, I often wear my Bad Ass socks.

I could eat tacos for every meal of the day, and most likely every day for the rest of my life. Corn tortillas only. This is a lifelong love affair starting from a very early age when my sister used to make tacos when I would spend weekends with her.

I’m often extremely blunt and to the point. Many times this is a great thing. Many times this is a bad thing.

I’m the person that’s going to ask the question everyone else wants to ask but won’t. Many times this is a great thing. Many times this is a bad thing.

My ability to say NO is up there as one of my greatly honed skills. I never feel guilty about saying no. It often provides freedom, efficiency, saves money, saves time, saves energy, and holds people accountable. It’s often misunderstood by others.

It’s impossible for me to fall asleep if I have socks on.

Sometimes I write things on my to-do list that were not on there but I did, just so I can mark them off. Okay, not sometimes - all the time.

My all-time favorite movie is Mr. Mom.

Sometime during my 38th year, I no longer became able to just hop out of the bed in the morning. It takes a few seconds longer than it used to ... maybe about 20 seconds. However most of the time I don't think of myself as a day over the age of 30.

  4. Happy Birthday! I hope your day was fabulous!

First, Robert Pattinson sings? How did I not know this?
Second, have you ever won more than $100 from a scratcher or was it beginners luck?
Third, I totally wore my Bad Ass socks to work once. I wish it was to make myself feel bad ass (good idea though - never thought of it) but really it was because my office is an ice box and they are warm.
Fourth, 5,6 and 7 are things I really admire about you. I wish I was better at all those things. :)

I hope this is your best year yet!

    1. I don't think I've ever won more than $2 after that first ticket! Robert Pattinson has 2 songs in the first Twilight movie!

  5. Happy, Happy, HAPPY {belated} Birthday, Samantha! So sorry I'm late.. hope your day was just fabulous. Like YOU! :)

Corn tortillas for the win! I do buy the flour ones for quesadillas for the girls, but for me.. corn all the way!

I HATE wearing socks to bed, too! If I am wearing socks to sleep.. it is ONLY because I am so cold I am shivering. Happens maybe twice a year.

LOVE the new header. Just love it!

Wishing you a fantastic last year of your 30s! xo
